Starcore's Tailings Dam Expansion Approved for 16 More Years of Production

Vancouver, British Columbia… Starcore International Mines Ltd. (“Starcore” or the “Company”) is pleased to report that it has received a favourable review from the Mexican environmental authorities on extending the life of the tailings dam at the San Martin Mine in Queretaro, Mexico. In order to increase the life expectancy of the Company’s tailings dam, the Company commissioned a study with a plan to increase the capacity of the tailings dam. This was submitted to the Ministry of Environmental and Natural Resources, SEMARNAT (Secretaria de Medio Ambiente y Recuersos Naturales). SEMARNAT regulates all mining activities in Mexico and is responsible for granting all environmental and drilling permits through its deputy office, Dirección General de Riezgo Ambiental (General Deputy for Environmental Control).

Starcore has now received full authorization from SEMARNAT to work its tailings dam as planned and proposed for the San Martin Mine. This authorization effectively increases the life of Starcore’s tailings dam for 16 more years, supporting the mine’s gold and silver production for that extended period of time.
